Jay Ward's re-imagining of classic fairy tales is outrageous, ridiculous... and fractured! With Prince (Not-So) Charming turning Sleeping Beauty into a tourist attraction while the Seven Dwarves make their living as con artists, everything is 'Fair' game when it comes to these fairy tales.

The film consists of five parts - a live-action framing story and four distinct animated episodes - each by a different creative team and in a different animation style, from Pojar and Koutský’s semi-plastic “Princess Who Never Smiled,” through Žabka’s puppet fable “The Fairy and the Bookkeeper,” Dlouhá and Váša’s paper-cut “Fisherman, His Wife, and the Golden Fish,” to Pixa’s near-future parable “Mr. Vincent”.

A collection of cartoons based on fairy tales of the northern peoples of the past years: "The Ugly Duckling", "Royal Hares", "The Enchanted Boy".

The story of the blacksmith Vakula, which happened to him on the farm of Dikanka on Christmas night.

A most unusual teacher of Mari history and culture appears in school. Instead of announcing the topic of the lesson he retells three tales to the children. These are modern interpretations of the legends of Onar, Irga and Chotkar, the Mari legendary heroes, "the last pagans in Europe". But the deputy school master senses something fishy and tries to expose the teacher.

In each episode, the action of Pushkin's fairy tales is transferred to our reality. The familiar Pushkin images will become even clearer: The Princess will turn out to be an instablogger, Elisha will be a rapper, and the Golden Cockerel will be a neural network.
